Over 100 Veterans Launch Coalition in Support of Sheri Biggs in South Carolina’s Third Congressional District

ANDERSON, SC – Over 100 veterans in South Carolina have joined together to launch an effort in support of Lieutenant Colonel Sheri Biggs’ Republican candidacy for South Carolina’s Third Congressional District.

The Veterans for Sheri Biggs Coalition is composed of former service members with a broad spectrum of branches, lengths of service, and ages represented. The group believes that Biggs, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air National Guard, best represents the interests of active and retired military as well as their families. The coalition is committed to rallying support for Biggs in advance of the June 11th Republican Primary. 

Veterans for Sheri Biggs Coalition Chair Alex Dalton, whose service in the United States Marine Corps included conducting forty-eight missions in Helmand Province (Afghanistan) and apprehending twenty high-profile Taliban leaders, focused on Biggs' sacrifice and dedication in offering his support.

"Sheri Biggs understands the values that veterans hold dear – service, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation," said Dalton. "Sheri's selfless service and dedication to veterans' welfare is exactly what we need in Congress."

Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Luther K. Beason, a Veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm, highlighted Biggs' volunteer work to help veterans heal.

"Not only as a flight nurse and military officer but also as a volunteer, Sheri Biggs has demonstrated time and again her commitment to the health and well-being of those who have served," said Beason. "Sheri does not just talk the talk; she has walked the walk."

Biggs expressed humility and honor in accepting the support from the veterans coalition.

"I am deeply honored to have the backing of so many who have worn the uniform in defense of our nation," said Biggs. "The Veterans for Sheri Biggs Coalition not only represents the best of America but also showcases the confidence veterans across the district have entrusted in me to fight for them and their families in Congress. As the next Member of Congress from South Carolina's Third Congressional District, I will work tirelessly to ensure the promises made to veterans are fulfilled."
